Frequently Asked Questions
What curriculum does RMCA use?
We use two curriculums to better accommodate our students' needs. Abeka for Kindergarten through 3rd grade — pencil-to-paper work that builds writing skills — and Ignitia for 4th through 12th grade, an online curriculum accessible 24/7 so students can advance at their own pace.
What are RMCA's hours of operation?
8:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Does RMCA provide daily transportation?
RMCA does not provide daily transportation for students. We do provide transportation for field trips.
Does RMCA take students with an IEP?
Yes. Additional one-on-one assistance is provided daily for students with IEPs, and their progress is updated daily.
Does RMCA accept students who are not at grade level?
Yes. Our curriculum lets students work at their own pace. Students can move into higher grade work once they have mastered their present level (a minimum B grade average).
How does RMCA help students who need additional assistance?
When the teacher, principal and parents identify and agree on an area of academic struggle, the student receives one-on-one assistance from an additional-assistance teacher until the area is mastered.
Are all RMCA teachers certified?
Most of our teachers are certified through the Department of Education or private certification associations. RMCA also hires teachers working toward certification or a bachelor's degree in education. The majority hold at least a bachelor's degree.
Is speech or occupational therapy available?
Yes. Both speech therapy and occupational therapy are available. RMCA works closely with in-house and external professionals for our students.
Do you provide lunches?
RMCA does not currently provide lunches. Students must bring their own. We are not permitted by the health department to heat lunches, so hot food should be sent in a thermos.
